M�rida Botanical Garden
It is the first botanical garden in the city, it was founded in 1991 by the University of the Andes in order to preserve the fauna and flora and the investigation. It is located in the north extreme of the city and it is without any doubt a place that definitively must be visited.
It has 44 hectares in which is preserved the best collection of Bromelias in Venezuela; these lands were donated by the university, at present many of these hectares are in process of development.
It was divided in zones depending on the kind of flora existing at the place, but most of these lands are occupied by forests of pines.
